We continue our Employee of the Month series in which we celebrate achievement and recognise the hard work our incredible staff put into ending homelessness.
July’s winner is our Senior Allocations Officer, Meryem Opan. Meryem has been with the company for nine years and is considered part of the S&P family. Her piers have described Meryem as integral to the smooth running of the Allocations department. She handles customer services and tenancy management, which can be challenging at times. Over her long and distinguished career at S&P, Meryem has proven time and again that she can rise to difficult and stressful situations; consistently going above and beyond the call of duty while displaying her calm demeanour and grace.
We spoke to Meryem to get to know a bit more about her and what was behind her success.
Congratulations on winning the July Stef & Philips employee of the month Meryem. How did you feel it feel to win?
Having worked for the allocations team for eight years it was a big surprise, however, I am very proud of my achievement.
What are your day-to-day responsibilities at S&P?
I work in the allocations team; my main duties involve liaising with various local authorities and working with councils to find suitable accommodation for homeless people.
What are you most proud of in your work at Stef & Philips?
My overall journey at the company; starting my career as the receptionist and working my way up to my current role of Senior Allocations Officer.
Any exciting development in the pipeline?
We have properties being added to our portfolio continuously, which enables us to help more people to find affordable and accessible accommodation.
Congratulations Meryem, keep up the good work.
Stay tuned for our August winner…
