We continue our Employee of the Month series in which we celebrate achievement and recognise the hard work our incredible staff put into ending homelessness.
May’s winner heads up our Accounts Payable department, Mayi Combe. May has taken little time to make a positive impact on the company, since taking over sole responsibility for running the purchase ledger. Working tirelessly, she has gone above and beyond expectations to ensure that our invoicing runs seamlessly. Her commitment to the company, dedicated to improving processes, and attitude have all been exemplary. Mayi is a credit to the business and an inspiration to other members of the team.
We spoke to Mayi to get to know a bit more about her and what was behind her success.
Congratulations on winning the May Stef & Philips employee of the month Mayi. How did it feel to win?
I was delighted to receive the honour of Employee of the Month. This announcement, was unexpected and meant a lot to me as I hold my work at Stef & Philips in high regard.
What are your day-to-day responsibilities at S&P?
My role varies from day to day; from looking after our supplier/contractor accounts – ensuring that all accounts payable and some receivable elements are maintained – to working with key stakeholders to improve our invoicing and accounting processes.
How has your previous experience helped you to be successful in your current role?
My background academically, professionally and personally has been instrumental in enabling me to succeed in a challenging and rewarding role. Having worked in other industries enabled me to apply that knowledge to find creative solutions to complex business and operational issues facing Stef & Philips. It also served to add value to my department and the company. I believe that my can-do attitude is a great asset when it comes to managing the multiple and competing priorities that my job involves.
What are you most proud of in your work at Stef & Philips?
Going above and beyond the expectations of my role; running the accounts department for the construction division, mitigating existing challenges and maintaining efficient accounts processes. None of which would have been possible without the support of key members of staff and Directors. These have been my proudest accomplishments so far
Any exciting development in the pipeline?
I am very excited to work with the company as it continues to grow and tap into new opportunities while fostering and encouraging my professional growth.
Congratulations Mayi, keep up the good work.
Stay tuned for our June winner…
