If you have become homeless or urgently need somewhere to live, you may be offered the opportunity to stay in temporary or emergency accommodation. We work with more than 60 local authorities, housing associations and charities to provide temporary and emergency accommodation for individuals and families.
The team at Stef & Philips is here to make your move as easy as possible. Once your housing provider has allocated a place for you, you will be met at the property by your dedicated Stef & Philips Housing Officer.
Your Housing Officer will show you around the property and make sure you understand where everything is and how it works. They will walk you through safety and security, signpost you to local amenities and explain your responsibilities as a service user, including who to contact in event of an emergency.
We provide you with a welcome pack that explains everything in detail and if you have any questions or concerns you can always ask the housing officers when they make their weekly visits.
Your local authority, housing association or charity that placed you in your accommodation with Stef & Philips will inform you if you need to move out or have been authorised a transfer to other accommodation. Our dedicated teams are here to provide you with the support that you need while you are living in a Stef & Philips property and will be notified by your housing provider of any changes.
Some service users are responsible for paying council tax, for the duration of time they spend in temporary or emergency accommodation. If this applies to you, the team at Stef & Philips can help advise you on how to pay your council tax bill and any discounts you may be eligible for.
Service users may be responsible for paying for utilities such as gas, water and electricity bills while staying in temporary or emergency accommodation. However, this varies depending on the property. When you move in, the Stef & Philips team will explain what your responsibilities are.
In some circumstances, you may be responsible for paying rent on your accommodation. Your housing provider will be able to confirm this – and Stef & Philips is always on hand to answer any questions you may have.
Your housing provider is the local authority, housing association or charity that has placed you in the accommodation that is managed and operated by Stef & Philips.
